Glanceline
Teleprompter + camera · Android and iPhone

Eyes on
the lens.

Glanceline is a teleprompter and a video camera in one app. Your script scrolls right under the camera while Glanceline records you, so you read your lines and still look into the lens.

Turn it. The script follows the lens.

Set the frame to Auto and Glanceline turns with you. Held sideways, the script moves to the side of the phone where the camera is, with the reading line at the height of the lens, and it switches sides when you turn the phone the other way round. Prefer it fixed? Lock it to vertical or horizontal. While you record, the screen never turns.

The camera lens

Read at the line. Look at the lens.

Lines scroll up out of a pink zone. The line that has just left the pink sits closest to the camera, so that is where you read, and your eyes stay near the lens.

  1. 1

    Write your script

Write or paste your text in Settings › Script. Every sentence gets its own line.

  2. 2

    Read at the line

Read the line just above the white marker. Tap the script to pause, drag it to go back or forward.

  3. 3

    Record

Tap the red button. “Get ready” counts down 3, 2, 1, then the script starts and Glanceline records.

The full guide

Everything a take needs.

Script and text

  • Every sentence on its own line, with an optional blank line between sentences.
  • Scroll speed from 8 to 180 lines per minute, up or down.
  • Countdown of 3, 5 or 10 seconds, or none.
  • Two typefaces, size, weight, line spacing, alignment and margins.
  • White, yellow or purple text, all capitals, and mirrored text for a beam-splitter rig.

Video

  • Vertical or horizontal video in Full HD, or 4K when your phone supports it.
  • 24, 25, 30 or 60 frames per second.
  • Video bitrate from 8 to 100 Mbps.
  • Front or back camera, with a mirrored preview.
  • Auto, vertical or horizontal: turns with the phone, or stays locked.

Audio

  • Record with the phone’s microphone, or with a wired, USB or Bluetooth microphone.
  • Hard limiter with an adjustable ceiling, standard −9 dB, so loud peaks don’t distort.
  • Live level meter. Red means too loud.
  • Hands-free if you like: start and stop with a double clap, a volume button or a Bluetooth remote.

Private by design

  • No account, no login, no ads and no tracking.
  • Glanceline has no internet access. Your videos, audio and scripts never leave your phone.
  • Videos are saved in Movies/Glanceline, in your gallery.
